Art Club

 Art Club will focus on both collaboration and self-guided creative problem solving and art making. Students will draft plans and explore different materials to see their plans come to fruition.

Come and play any and all board games that interest you. Card games, strategy games, monopoly...anything is welcome! We have some games or feel free to bring your own board game.

Builders Club is a service organization that is a division of Kiwanis and Columbine High School Key Club. We participate in a variety of positive community service projects such as Trick-or-Treat Street, Pennies for Patients and a school-wide food drive.

Chess Club is for students who are interested in participating in all levels of the game of chess, friendly or competitive. Come join us!

Cross Country

Tuesdays & Wednesdays on the Track

This is a non-competitive club for students who enjoy distance running. We meet twice a week for a 3 mile fun run/walk in the KCMS neighborhood for about 6 weeks in the fall. One of our goals is to participate in a community 5K run. We will start running in September and run through the 3rd week in October.  FCCLA (Family, Career & Community Leaders of America)

Come join in the fun as we explore projects made with computerized sewing machines. Food crafts like candy making and dehydrating beef jerky. Field trips to see behind the scenes of restaurant management. This club is planned by you.  

 Game On Club    Thursdays in the LLC Come after school to enjoy computer games like Minecraft or the card game Magic. 

 Geography Bee

This activity is for students interested in participating in the Ken Caryl Geography Bee, which is the first step to the National Geography Bee. Ken Caryl's Bee is held in January and the winner has the opportunity to qualify to represent KCMS and be one of 100 students to participate at the State Geography Bee in April. The winner of the state competition will participate at the national level.

Wednesdays in the Theater

Participants will be trained in acting, singing, stage movement, choreography and basic technical theater. A culminating show will be presented in December and May.

Do you want to learn how to knit or crochet? No experience needed. If you already know how, you can work on any project you want to perfect your skill. We will be working on projects like blankets, stuffed animals and scarves.

3rd Thursday in the Commons

 A recognition program of students who have achieved high standards of scholarship (an overall GPA of 3.6 or higher for 7th grade) and who have also chosen to apply themselves in the areas of leadership, service, citizenship and character. Club activities provide opportunities for members to become involved in significant learning experiences, especially in the area of community service.

This year, Ken Caryl will be hosting a school-wide spelling bee. Anyone interested may participate. Winners of the school spelling bee will then advance to the next level.

Students explore, investigate and discover STEM subjects in a stimulating learning environment. Students work together and explore many different ideas and activities such as the physics of catapults, strength to weight ratios of bridges, and the launching of rockets.
